Boston College loses to Holy Cross College.
November 28, 1942
A 21-point favorite, the previously undefeated Eagles loses to Holy Cross 55-12 at Fenway Park, in one of the biggest upsets in college football history. Although the loss prevents B.C. from being invited to the Sugar Bowl, it also keeps many of the school’s fans from celebrating afterward at the Cocoanut Grove nightclub, which is destroyed by a terrible fire that evening.
